Approve $548k Contract for Design of CTH Undergrounding & Evacuation Project - YES

In 2021, the Town Council designated the lower portion of Redwood Avenue and Edison Avenue as the location of a pilot program for undergrounding electrical lines in Corte Madera. The purpose of this project is to enhance safety by eliminating the potential risks associated with downed power lines and simplify evacuation efforts in the event of a weather-related emergency on the hill. I am proud to have voted to award BKF Engineers the $548,000 contract to continue with the work and begin their initial design phase which includes land surveying, geotechnical investigations, and community outreach.
