Authorize Additional $132,000 for Sewer Repairs - YES

Every year, our Public Works department undertakes a major project to repair the most dilapidated portions of the Town's sewer system, and the 2021 Sewer Rehabilitation Project is focusing on the Marin Estates - Granada neighborhood. In the course of performing those repairs, it was discovered that certain sections of the existing infrastructure were in worse condition than initially anticipated, requiring $132,400 in additional funds outside the original contract to repair them. I voted to grant a contract addendum, so we can bring the neighborhood's sewer infrastructure fully up to snuff and eliminate the risk of dangerous spills or overflows.

It's worth noting that, even with this added cost, the 2021 Sewer Rehabilitation Project is still well under budget.
