Authorize Hiring of Additional Code Enforcement Staff - YES

From leaf blowers to excessive noise to dogs off leash, code violations and complaints are up substantially. Residents have been calling on us for months to increase enforcement, but the Town only has one code enforcement official on staff, we are already at capacity.

Having identified a path towards bringing in additional, part-time code enforcement help that stays within the bounds of our budget, I voted yes to answering residents' calls and putting a couple more pairs of boots on the ground in Corte Madera, to help ensure that everyone is respecting their fellow residents by obeying the law.

As our new code enforcement officers come online, we will be starting a generous push for education before enforcement, making sure residents understand what the rules are and providing warnings and education before moving to fines for repeat offenders.
