Award $325,000 Contract for Landscaping Maintenance - YES

I voted to award a $325,000, one-year contract to Flores Builders for landscaping maintenance throughout Town, including parks, medians, flammable vegetation management, hanging baskets, and special event preparation. This contract was offered without the normal competitive bidding process because the Town has previously contracted with Flores for these same services, although staff still performed a market survey to ensure that the price remained competitive. Our staff tells us that Flores has been excellent to work with and has provided good service for the Town.

Note that this contract is a not-to-exceed amount, but the actual work is billed on a time and materials basis, meaning that if Flores performs less than $325,000 in work, any excess funds will remain with the Town.
