COVID hit our local businesses, business owners, and workers hard, and the Town Council felt unanimously that we needed to support them through these challenging times. We voted to create a $200,000 fund that would help small local businesses struggling to pay rent, and disbursed $1,000 grants to scores of local businesses. Funding came from the Measure B and Measure F Sales Tax Funds.

By reinvesting sales tax revenue in saving the local businesses that generated that revenue, we ensured the continuity of Corte Madera's local economy, while safeguarding an important local tax stream—a win-win for our community.
